About Us

"Oba Skoba" is an original Chamorro slang that was coined by Jesus Charfauros aka "Jesus Chamorro"  It is an expression that is used to refer to someone or a situation in which goes above or beyond what is expected.  Jesus Chamorro and the Charfauros Bros (Tommy, Ike and Victor) were pioneers of their generation who advocated for the preservation of the Chamorro language and culture.  They formed the Charfauros Brothers Studios in the 1970s and were responsible for promoting and producing numerous iconic local musicians such as Flora Baza-Quan, J. D. Crutch, Uncle Tote' Joe Cunningham, Patrick Palomo, and many others that were featured in their release of the Marianas Home Grown album.

In the late 1980s to 1990s Jesus Chamorro and the Charfauros Brothers worked closely with KUAM and developed the first and only full time Chamorro Station known as "610AM, I' Estasion-mu Minagof!"  Oba Skoba grew in popularity during this era and has been used to express many situations

Today, "Oba Skoba" honors the legacy of Jesus Chamorro and the Charfauros Brothers expressed through our limited and custom apparel.  It applies to all lifestyles and cultures as Oba Skoba is all about exceeding limitations and expectations in life.  Live life the Oba Skoba Way!
